I have this believe that people have the power to make inanimate objects vessels of a greater, amassed energy and therefore making these items powerful and almost holy. For example throughout time, people have been praying their wishes or hopes onto a large array of consecrated objects such as statuettes, retablos, beads, shrines, relics, books and birthday cakes. At the time, I was also very influenced by local graffiti artists displaying their art throughout the city through by spray paint and wheatpasting.
In 2011, a great distress occurred throughout my life. I was in a hopeless position where I nor anyone could solve the problems. My immense angst forced me to deeply ruminate, to collect items and distribute them in the name of my hopes and best wishes, so perhaps, the intense energy that I put upon these items would be magnified by the curiosity of strangers.
